Online Craps Tournaments
Online craps tournaments have become quite the rage. One of the best things is that you will not only get to play your hand on online craps but also on different variations of this game. Most tournaments online focus on the original or standard craps game but you can opt for other variations as well. Before you start participating in craps tournaments, you need to know certain aspects of these online competitions.
Understanding The Tournament Game
One of the important things to understand is that the online craps tournaments are different from the game you play in the casino. In the casino, you can see the players in front of you but in an online tournament, you won’t be able to see your competition. You need to be well-versed with the rules of online craps and this includes the best as well as pay outs. You need to full understand how the best work and how they are paid out. If you are a beginner then don’t stretch your luck too far by participating in craps tournaments.
Craps tournaments can be very fast paced and quite rewarding. But one of the important things to remember is that if you are participating in craps tournaments online then you are playing to win – you are playing to take home most of the money on your table. It is not just about winning here – it is about taking everything that is on a craps table. Second most important thing to remember is that you are not playing just to beat the house but also to beat all the players in the game.
Learn Craps – The Basics
Craps is definitely not the toughest game to play at an online casino. You can learn craps within an hour and if you have got the basics right then you will start winning from the word go. Craps has a long history and is played using a pair of dice. It is a fast game and considered as one of the most exciting online casino games ever.
Although quite intimidating to a beginner because of the extremely fast pace, you can learn craps quite quickly. The first and most important thing to understand is that there is one fundamental bet in craps and that is called – the pass line bet. Every player on online craps has to make this bet. As you play and gain experience, you will be able to add more bets. This is an integral part of learning craps.
The Pass Line
The pass line is where you need to start to learn craps and every player at the online craps table has to bet on it. This is the one bet that you need to master in order to play craps successfully.
You will need to put your pass line bet on the pass line itself during a come out roll. When you are playing online, the only way to be sure that it is a come out roll is if you see a black laminated marker on the craps table, which says “off.” If you get a 7 or 11 on the come out roll then you will win money but if you get a 2, 3, or 12 on the come out roll then you will lose money. The best play to learn craps is actually by playing the game and by losing as well as winning.
If the numbers are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 on the come out roll then this will be known as “the point.” When this happens, the marker will change from the black “off” side to the white “on” side. The marker will then be placed right on the number at the online craps table. For example: if the “come out roll” is 9 then the marker will be on 9. You can play some free craps here to learn more about how the “pass line” works. This way you and other players of the game will remember what “the point” is.
The dice will then be rolled out by the shooter till the time he or she rolls the same point or a 7. If the 7 rolls out first then you will lose but if the same point rolls out first then you will win even money.
Note: You should never make a “pass line bet” after a come out roll. This is allowed on certain online craps games but is not recommended. This is because it under values the pass line bet after the come out roll.
As you learn craps, you can also check the pass rules to understand the game better.
One of the salient aspects is that the house edge on a pass line is just 1.41%, which is a positive aspect vis-à-vis the other bets in craps or in any other online casino games.
The Other Bets
When you learn craps, you will know about the several other bets that are applicable during the course of the game. Some of the other bets include:
Don’t Pass: This is the exact opposite of a pass line bet. This basically means that if you get a 2 or 3 on the come out roll then you will win but if you get a 7 or 11 then you will lose. If you bet on the “don’t pass” then you will be known as the wrong bettor.
Taking the Odds: “Taking the odds” bet is only possible after you make a “pass line” bet. You should ideally put the odds bet right behind the pass line bet and should be outside the pass line area. The odds bet are seen as an additional wager and is on 7. You can also opt for “full double odds”, which basically means that you can take 2.5 times odd on the points 6 or 8 and 2 times odd on any other points.
Laying the Odds: This is the exact opposite of the “taking the odds” bet, which means that your bet will be on the odd that a 7 will roll out before the point. You will have to put “laying the odds” bet right next to the “don’t pass” bet. While you learn craps, you will learn of the finer aspects of the “Taking the odds” bet like: If the point is a 5 or a 9 then laying the odds pays for 2 to 3.
Come: The come bet is similar to the pass line bet and can be made at any point in time. It has a house edge of 1.41% and you can even put your money on the odds if a point comes out in the first roll.
Don’t Come: The “don’t come” bets are similar to the “don’t pass” bets and is made only on a non-come out roll.
